Care for the Family

For over 25 years Care for the Family has been providing parenting, relationship and bereavement support through our events, resources, courses, training and volunteer networks.

“I know from personal experience what it’s like to go through hard times. Having Care for the Family standing by me was so important. That’s why I want to remember them long into the future.” – Simon has left a legacy to Care for the Family.

Simon’s valuable gift will make a world of difference for years to come to families just like the Stuarts. Paul and Isobel Stuart have three adult children. At a young age two of their children were diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and autism, which inevitably caused a strain on the family.

When Paul and Isobel learnt of Care for the Family’s befriending service for parents of children with additional needs, they immediately got involved. They quickly realised how valuable it was to be able to talk openly and honestly about how life really is. The vital support they received from our trained befrienders who had experienced the same emotions and anxieties was life-changing.

Both Paul and Isobel are now trained befrienders themselves, so they can support others on the journey of coping with a child with additional needs, as they know how helpful such support was for them.

A gift in your will to Care for the Family will enable us to continuing supporting families now and long into the future.
