‘Solicitors for the Elderly’ and Christian Legacy are working together to encourage people to make a will and leave their Christian Legacy to the next generation. Participating Solicitors for the Elderly members will offer will-makers recruited through Christian Legacy a ten per cent discount from the cost of their normal will-making fee. Party leaders pledge legacy “tithe”

Resource pack to encourage legacy giving in churches

In these difficult times of declining congregations and uncertain economic prospects, a gift in a will can be a lifeline for a church which is struggling to maintain its building. However, the Christian Legacy Consortium’s research has indicated that as few as 17% of churches are teaching about legacy giving. Scripture Union and Stewardship join the Christian Legacy Consortium

The existing six members of the Consortium welcomed the two new members at their Annual General Meeting this month. Annette Bull of Tearfund said: “It’s great to have Scripture Union and Stewardship on board.
